Kowa SE 1964 - Needs SLR Shooting Tips

After pulling my Dads 40+ year old SLR out of the wardrobe, I finally decided to stick some film in and give it a shot.
I hope to have some shots from there up soon but in the mean time if you had any tips when it comes to shooting with an SLR it would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first serious time shooting with anything other than a digital, wish me luck!

The other day I decided to make a group for photographers, I really didn't know what to call it but apparently in greek "photograph" can be roughly translated to "drawings of light" so... here we are.
It's a group for any photographer, whether you're an amateur, a professional or someone in between. I would like it to give people the opportunity to share their art with other deviants and help the "unknown" artists get their work out there.
As I said this is my first group so I'm not to sure of what I'm doing.
